Asylum Seeker and Refugee Service

The team administrator has developed the database to provide information on the asylum seeker population, in terms of nationality, language, and demographic data including immigration information. It is hoped that this information will contribute in providing information on planning future services for this client group.
The Mental Health Nurse recently presented at the National Nurses Conference for Asylum Seekers & Refugees. The presentation was based on Solution Focussed Approach and how this is used in assessment to empower the individual.
The Lead Nurse is taking the opportunity to promote our service, in providing a training event open to PCT GP’s and health professionals from other disciplines. This is the first event of its kind to be held in the West Midlands.
