Your NHS Number is unique to you and is used to help healthcare staff, including doctors and hospital staff, match you to your health records. As part of a major national campaign, NHS Stoke on Trent Community Health Services is working to ensure everyone - members of the public and healthcare staff alike - are familiar with and use the NHS Number every time there is correspondence between the two.
Stoke to Get a New Dental Surgery[ 11 Mar 2011 ]
Stoke’s getting a new dental practice next month and registering couldn’t be easier.
The NHS Liverpool Road Dental Practice in Stoke itself will open its doors to patients on 1st April 2011. 3,000 patients will be able to register.

Fire at the Haywood Hospital[ 10 Mar 2011 ]
A small fire broke out at the Haywood Hospital in Burslem yesterday.
Fire-crews were at the hospital site yesterday afternoon and into the evening after the fire spread into the roof space. The out-patients’ department was evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Bowel Screening Could Save Your Life[ 7 Mar 2011 ]
GPs across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire are being written to urging them to encourage patients to take up the offer of bowel screening if patients haven’t already done so.
Men and women aged 60-69 are routinely called for screening every two years. Anyone aged over 70 can also request a free kit.
Smokers Encouraged to Quit on No Smoking Day[ 7 Mar 2011 ]
Smokers across Stoke-on-Trent are being urged to use No Smoking Day as the day to quit.
Next Wednesday March 9th is the 28th national No Smoking Day. This year’s theme is: ‘A Time to Quit,’ which is being used as an invitation to smokers to use the day to make a lifelong change.
