Night Allocation of Nursing Services

The Night Allocation of Nursing Service (NANS) provides respite care out of normal working hours.

The NANS supports patients and carers throughout Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire by providing respite care between the hours of 6pm to 7am within the patient's own home for patients who require round the clock care or who have disturbed sleep.

The service helps prevent the breakdown of supportive care which carers provide on a day to day basis and also prevents hospital admission for those patients who are terminally ill and choose to die at home.

Relative's or carers as well as healthcare professionals can refer patients to the service.
