Community DVT Service

The Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) service is available to all patients who are registered with a GP in Stoke on Trent.

The DVT service operates alongside the Walk-in centre at Haywood Hospital and acts as an alternative to full attendance at University Hospitals of North Staffordshire.

It offers assessment and diagnostic facilities for patients referred by their GP who wishes to exclude a potential DVT in their patient.  Patients are assessed on the same day unless otherwise requested by their GP.   

The service operates between the hours of 9am and 8pm, Monday to Sunday including bank holidays.

All patients remain under the care of their GP throughout assessment and diagnosis. The patient's GP is sent written communication about their patient's diagnosis, and in the case of a positive DVT diagnosis the GP is also contacted by telephone.
