Breastfeeding Network
Breastfeeding Network is a national charity run by volunteers. Their website provides information about breastfeeding challenges and about the safety of common medications when you are breastfeeding.

National Childbirth Trust
The NCT is a national charity supporting parents through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. They provide breastfeeding counselling and antenatal classes for expectant parents in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

Kellymom Breastfeeding & Parenting
A US site containing information and articles about breastfeeding, sleep and parenting. Especially useful for more unusual breastfeeding concern.

Le Leche League North Staffordshire
Le Leche League GB are part of a world wide group providing mother to mother support with breastfeeding, from pregnancy through to weaning. A local group meets in North Staffordshire twice a month.

Newman Breastfeeding Clinic & Institute
Jack Newman is a Canadian paediatrician considered an international expert in breastfeeding. His website contains supportive articles and video clips covering latch on and effective feeding.

The Baby Friendly Initiative
The UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative is a global scheme supporting health care providers in ensuring care is evidence based. Stoke on Trent PCT and Community Health Services currently have the Certificate of Commitment to Baby Friendly Standards and are working towards full accreditation. The Baby Friendly website provides information for parents about breastfeeding and safe sleep.

UK Association of Milk Banks
The UK association of milk banks coordinates the use of donated breast milk across the country. Out nearest milk banks are Birmingham Women’s Hospital and Countess of Chester hospital; they both collect donated milk from mothers in North Staffordshire.
